Aging Cell
Aging Cell
Details
Aging Cell with Teflon Liner, 500ml, Type 316 / 304 stainless steel pressure vessel, certified for 600℉ (315℃) and 2500 psi (17,237 kPa) maximum working pressure
These aging cells are designed to be used with the products such as roller ovens, in the aging and testing of drilling fluids or muds. They are also known as mud aging cells.
Aging is done under conditions which vary from static to dynamic and from ambient to highly elevated temperatures.
Most drilling fluid formulations contain a base liquid and additives which must be dissolved or mechanically dispersed into the liquid to form a homogenous fluid. The resulting fluid may contain one or more of the following:
1. Water-dispersible (soluble) polymers or resins
2. Clays or other insoluble but dispersible fine solids
3. Soluble salts
The fluids are mixed or sheared for times appropriate to achieve a homogenous mixture and are then set aside to age.
